Q: How long will Windows Vista, 7 & 8/8.1 be supported? (Windows lifecycle)
A: Windows Vista (April 11, 2017), Windows 7 (January 14, 2020) Windows 8/8.1 (January 10, 2023). Microsoft has technically stopped support for Windows 8 and requires you to update to either Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
Q: Is Windows 10 truly free?
A: It was until July 29th, 2016. (As long as you have a valid Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 licence you should be able to still upgrade for free.)
Q: Should I upgrade to Windows 10?
A: For older units, we don’t recommend it. If by chance you want to try it out and don’t like it, we can downgrade you back to your previous OS. Call the shop for more information.
Q: My computer says I have viruses and to call this ‘800’ number, should I?
A: NO! Never call those numbers, these are known scams. If you are truly worried, bring your machine down and we can check it out for you.
